Why ValueCo?

ValueCo is a mission-driven company that aims to explicitly integrate environmental, social and human criteria into company performance and market valuations. We are developing the first SaaS solution to collect proprietary ESG ratings from investors and provide market analyses to asset managers, institutional investors, and corporates.

Our collaborative model and cutting-edge research make us the only player to collect and leverage asset managers' internal opinions. This model enables us to draw on the collective intelligence of responsible investors to improve market practices.

We are already working with over 40 banks and asset managers and launched our web platform in April 2023. In late 2024, we are starting a seed fundraising round to expand the team.

What's special about ValueCo?

We are a highly committed team working with a wide range of actors to achieve a transition towards a more sustainable and ambitious approach to finance both in Europe and abroad.

We are a Finance Innovation Label Awardee, a signatory to the UN Principles for Responsible Investment, a member of The Good AI community and an alumni of the Techstars "Future of Finance" accelerator 2022 cohort.

ValueCo values the diversity of the people it employs and serves as part of its corporate commitments with a mission. We promote a work environment where individual differences are recognized, respected and valued in order to develop their full potential and to make the most of each person's talents.

Job description

We are looking for a dynamic team leader to take ownership of our product by developing and maintaining our web platform. This position would lead to the role of ValueCo’s Head of Engineering to oversee all our technical efforts once the team expands. Your challenges will include:

·       Develop new features based on our existing roadmap, the results of our internal research efforts and customers’ feedback.

·       Contribute to recruiting the rest of the team (12 people, including 4 techs) with the founders.

·       Challenge the technical and architectural choices made so far to anticipate the product scale.

·       Ensure the platform meets the cybersecurity standards set by our customers and build our way towards the ISO 27001 certification.

This list is likely to evolve according to your aspirations, the moment's needs and the technical team's constitution.

Missions

Here is a description of our main stack and tools:

·       Frontend: We use Next.js and Node.js as the main stack for our frontend. We also integrate Metabase widgets to create interactive dashboards.

·       Authentication (Keycloak): Expertise in setting up and managing Keycloak for authentication services is required.

·       DevOps and Cloud: We use GitLab pipelines to build Docker images of our services, and we deploy them on a Kubernetes cluster hosted in GCP. Firestore is used as the CMS for our platform. AWS is also part of our stack for specific cloud segregation.

·       Backend: We use Java with the Spring Boot framework and Gradle. Liquibase is used for database schema management.

·       Database: We use two types of databases: PostgreSQL (transactional database used to write data and maintain its integrity) and BigQuery (analytical database used to read data and feed the platform APIs and widgets).

Ideal profile

·       Team lead/Lead developer/Head of Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in building tech products,

·       Expertise in the various elements of our technical stack,

·      Looking for a permanent contract in a growing start-up,

·       Comfortable with early-stage products,

·       Experience with GCP products suite is a plus,

·       Adaptable, autonomous, and eager to create a technical team around the project,

·       Interest in responsible finance, sustainability and impact projects.

Benefits

·       BSPCE package (stock options),

·       Flexible remote working policy (or physically in Paris),

·       Computer and remote working equipment subsidy,

·       Corporate health insurance,

·       Restaurant vouchers, public transport passes,

·       Continuous training depending on the needs.

Recruiting process

Once you have submitted your application, enclosing an up-to-date CV or LinkedIn profile and a GitHub account if you have one, we will contact you for a series of three interviews:

1.     A 30-minute telephone interview to tell you a little more about ValueCo and answer your initial questions.

2.     Depending on your experience, we will send you a quick technical test to complete before the next interview.

3.    A one-hour interview, face-to-face if possible, to debrief the test and discuss your skills.

4.    A final 30-minute interview to discuss our corporate culture and answer your final questions.
